Artist Statement:
Creating jewelry allows
me to express myself by
producing beautiful, wearable
works of art. Because my art
is meant to be worn on the
body, I feel that it has the
ability to connect with people
in a very personal and
intimate way. I love the fact
that people are able to
communicate their independent
style by wearing a piece of my
artwork. A bold, dramatic
form may appeal to someone who
wants to express an edgy
attitude; whereas a softer,
more subdued piece may relate
to a woman’s feminine side.
The elements and principles of
design play a huge role in
every decision I make during
the creative process. I
organize the materials and
compositional elements within
my pieces so that each one is
a statement of simplistic
beauty, meant to bring its
wearer pleasure.
I draw much of my
inspiration from nature and
the things I see in the world
around me. Ideas are often
sparked by found objects such
as a smooth river rock, a
piece of glass worn by the
sea, or a fallen leaf.
Because of the connection I
feel with nature, organic
shapes are prevalent in my
