Artist Statement:
Born and raised in the
Waikato, New Zealand, Roseanne
is a self- trained artist who
paints from within. She likes
to create art that evokes
feeling of warmth, simplicity,
to capture a moment. She likes
to paint works that will
capture an emotion, or give
you a sense of time and energy
especially in a New Zealand
context. Her preferred medium
is acrylic
as she feels emotion using a
simple and delicate touch, or
express energy by blending and
layering of strong colours,
also using photography where
light is the paintbrush to
capture the emotion of the
subject.
For most of the past decade,
Roseanne has also worked as an
architectural designer,
project manager, and cad
technician within the New
Zealand construction industry.
Currently she is studying to
further her techniques with
the Learning Connexion in the
diploma of art & creativity
after receiving the Oriel
Hoskin Art Scholarship in
2002.
Roseanne has recently returned
to the things she truly loves
painting, drawing,
photography, kayaking and
shared moments with special
people, especially her
husband.
