Artist Statement for Audrey Jordan

My home is located in the seacoast town of Hampton, New Hampshire. I am self-taught along with private study with both locally and nationally known artists. Watercolor is my first choice, however, many of my pieces are multi-media with collage. Impressionistic to abstract design forms the basis of my work. I don't often paint the "real" - but the "illusion" of the real. My subject matter is the world around me. I paint trying to capture a certain mood of a momet in time and of fragile memories in my mind's eye. I love color and texture. Depending on what my heart feels on a day that I'm painting, it may be florals with their intricate petals and valleys of darks and peaks of lights. At other times it is capturing the sea with its sunsets and storms. Hidden within, if you look really close, you might see woodland nymphs, bears or even an indian or two!

All paintings are sold with museum quality double mats and backed by acid free foam core. Some paintings are sold framed. The paintings are insured and shipped via UPS. A charge (depending on the size and weight of the painting)is added to the price for shipping and insurance.
