| Your Personal Biography |
I originally hailed from Westport and then Christchurch, South Island of New Zealand.
Always looking for an adventure, I've now sucumbed to the gypsy in my soul and have bought a house in one of the most enchanting, ancient small villages in Italy. Introdacqua is a medieval village located in the Abruzzo mountains of Italy, 2 hours east of Rome.
The catalyst for my move to Italy, was an invitation to exhibit at the Florence Biennale, held at the Fortessa in Florence, Dec 2007.
One of my ambitions has been to have a studio/workroom within my home, from where I can teach small groups, a variety of different crafts.
My interests lie in fiber/textile art, quiltmaking and mixed media art.
Always experimenting and dabbling with many different ideas and techniques, these I share with my pupils in class.
Since I was a young girl, sewing, creating and making things, has always played a huge part in my life. I became hooked on quiltmaking around 25 years ago, making and exhibiting many traditional, hand quilted bed quilts, before pushing the bounderies into the textile/fiber art quilt domain. (I still enjoy hand-quilting).
