Ramon Lapayese

1. Biography
**************
Lapayese began his artistic
studies with his father. He
continued by learning
sculpture with private
teachers and teaching himself
to paint. At age fourteen he
completed his first
professional sculpture.
From 1942 to 1949 he audited
classes at the school of Arts
and Trades and the school of
Fine Arts in Barcelona. He
also studied music theory and
violin at the Ainaud academy.
Upon returning to Madrid, he
went to the Circulo de Bellas
Artes to draw. He began to
work in ceramics, continued to
study violin, harmony and
composition, and also
completed important works of
sculpture. At the same time he
continued to study painting in
depth.
In 1954 he was awarded a grant
from the Italian government to
study in the Spanish Academy
in Rome. In 1957 he went to
France with a grant from this
government, residing in the
French capital for six years.
In Paris he completely
developed his vocation as a
painter, and also continued
with sculptures and the study
of printing, engraving, etc.,
