Artist Statement for Laura Frances

The ISO Ethos
It's no surprise that as artists we have strong personal convictions and tenets that we communicate through our work. Artistic statement is open to interpretation; always has been, always will be, but without a doubt art has historically created one of the most provocative forums for weighty debate. And long may it continue.
Another fact of art history; once an artist or designer becomes 'famous' or even infamous, their works rise in value and are often resold years after creation for considerably greater sums than the piece was originally purchased. Plainly this is good for the artist, collectors, patrons and paladins who support and sustain the creative industry.
However, all too often the integrity of individual works are lost in the numbers; a travesty.
The ISO artists consortium have a solution to that; for every artwork or design piece we create, we shall donate a sustainable percentage of clear profit from sales to a charity or cause that is either particularly relevant to the piece, or of the artist's personal choice. Each work will carry a resale covenant; the artist's legacy, binding the reseller to donate the same percentage of clear profit to the charity for which the piece was originally dedicated.
No-one loses, everyone gains. And the 'message-in-a-bottle' is never lost no matter how many shores it washes up upon.
