Artist Statement:
Bronze Sculpture is a medium
that lends itself to depicting
and capturing the human
figure and wildlife. Being
of Africa myself and naturally
concerned about the threat of
modern development on wild
Africa, I tend to concentrate
on African wildlife and the
culture of The Bushmen.
The bronze figurative works
lean mostly toward the African
ethnic theme, particularly the
Bushmen also known as the San
people of Southern Africa.
Theirs is a threatened culture
so ancient that they existed
since the time of the stone
age period. The artist hopes
that his realistic style of
sculpture captures the very
essence of the Bushmen and
that of the wildlife they live
with so closely....
