Artist Statement:
I am a junk collector. I can't
help it. Every object, every
image and piece of paper that
goes into my paintings and
collages have a special
meaning for me. Actually, I
believe they have a mission:
to become an artwork.
I am fascinated by the
imperfection, the spontaneous,
the "non-professional look"
and the chance.
So far, I've had the
experience to live in three
cities that influenced me a
lot: Sao Paulo, London and New
York. All of them are
eccentric, weird and special
places.
Among the hundredes of artists
who are important and who have
influenced me are: Picasso,
Basquiat, Cy Twombly,
Rauschenberg, Kienholz, Peter
Blake, Kurt Schwitters, Walker
Evans.
