Artist Statement for Brian Beaucher
|

|
Way back when, I went to school for graphic design at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Outside of my classes I experimented with photography and worked freelance graphic design jobs. I found myself working on more out of school projects than class work. First I was just posting photographs on ebay, then I built a website that offered a way for people to purchase any of my photographs. During this time I was still doing freelance graphic design and found myself too busy for school. After my sophmore year I withdrew from MICA and moved back to my home state. I never returned to MICA and never had any formal education with photography, digital art, or web design. Since my graphic design classes focused on the design rather than teaching computer programs, I learned all my computer skills outside of school. Today I work full time with computers in the nerve center of John Hancock's network servers.
I now reside in Somerville, Massachusetts. As an artist my primary work is digital photography and photo restoration. In 2002 B Beaucher Studios became an official business. B Beaucher photographs have been sold around the world, and my work continues to grow.
