NARRATIVITI
Narrativiti is an evening of Art Music and Poetry taking place at Stone bar/Lounge in Islington on Sunday 13 July. Inspired by Africa, it is the second in a series of events to gather momentum around an initiative ‘EACH ONE TREAT ONE’ to address HIV/Aids in the black community both in the U.K and internationally.
Featuring the work of itinerant writer/photographer Shaun Wallace, where photography is fused with excerpts from his poetry and musings about love, his series, Travelogue takes a detour into a vista of obsession and redemption. Also on display will be the work from Andrea McLeod’s ‘In the beginning’, where modern perceptions of what it is to be black and British are explored. The concurrent theme being that love for self, people and community are often undervalued in today’s maelstrom of consumer values and branded identities.
Sponsored by the Terrence Higgins trust, Narrativiti hopes to establish itself as an annual multi-media event showcasing the work of Musicians artists and designers, who will use it as a platform to clarify some widely held misconceptions in the black community regarding HIV/Aids.
