Artist Statement:
I try to paint so that the
observer feels as if they can
walk into the painting.That
they can smell the air and
hear the sounds, that the
painting opens a world that is
realer than real. Many times
and in many ways one may walk
down a familiar path and not
really see the interesting
colors, shadows and shapes
that are there. I try, by my
paintings to open that door
and have them see the world in
a new light. One that they
have never looked at before.
One may "look" but not "SEE".
I attempt to open their eyes
to this world that they have
overlooked. I try to expand
and expose the obserever to a
new reality.
If I can do that, I feel I
have a successful painting.
One that can be enjoyed and
possibly show them how to view
the world in a new way that
allows them to welcome each
new day and the asthetic
journey that is before them.
All they have to do is open
their eyes and "SEE"!
