Artist Statement for Zachary Brown

|
I enjoy working with paint and various media on canvas. I began painting as a hobby and it has now become a passion. I paint as frequently as possible.
I generally decide the direction a painting will take after I’ve already begun the work. I enjoy making my own paint as well as using “store bought” acrylics. I also use a lot of other random media as well including sand and bamboo.
Currently I paint on small to medium sized canvases and rely heavily on acrylics and a palette knife. I paint as a therapy of sorts. Abstract painting allows me to relieve the swelling in my subconscious.
