Artist Statement:
Plamen's mythological works spring primarily from Greek, Egyptian, Babylonian, and Sumerian histories....Plamen has lived in Varna Bulgaria since 1985. Varna is the ancient Greek city of Odessos and sits on the edge of the Black Sea. The entire region is steeped in mythology.
Plamen works in the full creative bronze making process, using the ancient lost wax technique and casting many of his smaller bronze sculptures in his own workshop.
Plamen has had one man shows in Paris, Hungary, Belgium and Germany and many throughout Bulgaria. He has also been represented at several international symposia. Plamen was born on the 20th of November 1955 in the town of Targovishte, Bulgaria. In 1982 he graduated from the Veliko Tarnovo University with a degree in the subject of sculptural arts. Sculpture and Mythology is his life work.
