Artist Statement:
Jane Denman is based in
England and is a practising
artist and tutor. Her
drawings, which are an
important basis for paintings,
are based on the infamous Paul
Klee quote ‘taking the line
for a walk’.
Using a very fine drawing pen
Jane her aim is to create a
fluid, connected drawing at
speed, aiming to create a
drawing in a matter of minutes
before the subject (often
figurative) has moved. The
challenge in trying to capture
the image, as a camera would
do, is one that often fails
but every so often there is
just time to get it right.
Jane has exhibited her work in
London and the south east of
England, she is happy to work
to commissions and is
currently working on large
scale drawings and prints.
