Artist Statement for Mark Brockman
|

|
Expression above all else.
My work is in a constant evolutionary state. I work hard at never letting my emotions or visions rest. One needs to hear and heed the voices that can lead and push us into different directions.
My paintings range from the representational to the expressionistic, I work hard to ride that fine line between the two. When painting from nature, whether it be outdoors or in the studio, I listen to the voices of nature that guide me. With the social/political works, I listen to the voice from within.
