Artist Statement:
Beata Szechy works are
autobiographical installations
with paintings, prints,
drawings and objects.
My latest works are coming
from my dreams. In my
childhood I always wondered in
my bed when I woke up, open my
eyes, see lights, that came
through on the windowscreen
and made marks on the wall.
Every second that marks were
different on the wall how the
sun moved... sometimes
stripes, sometimes dots...

We met not long ago with the
"Beata Szechy's friends" at
Jokai Club in December 12,
2009, where we saw her
"Everybody has a Dream"
exhibition. She has exhibited
digital prints, offset prints
and mixed media silk screen

Silk screen prints that were drawn over with charcoal, graphite, then a new layer of silkscreen, and finally she sewed on top with thread or added tape or other strips. The works represent life: layers covered up with natural and artificial materials.
