Artist Statement:
Michael B. Allison:
Mike's first painting was the
black cow at night which won
him no accolades at Municipal
Elementary School in Roy,
Utah. His first sculpture --
a witch in a hat later became
an ice cream cone yet some how
out of theme for Thanksgiving.
Mike has lived most of his
life out of step with the
theme and has found a home in
Abstract Expressionism.
Kline, Motherwell, Kandinsky
and Pollock provide
inspiration. Mike has said
that he works best when the
painting speaks for itself and
inspires him, rather than
approaching the canvas with a
firm idea of an image or
theme.
