Artist Statement for Dawn Morishige
|
|
|
The artwork of Dawn Morishige is an innovative take on a background of photography. The work is printed onto film and subsequently etched and filled with pigment. Some are created into a Screen format. Some are 3 dimensional wall hangings. Some are blended with perforated metal. They are a mixed media extravaganza! They are at once Realistic and Surreal landscapes. The work brings out the liquidity of the darkroom and the creates wonderful movement in the images.
