Artist Statement:
Formally trained in design communications (graphic design), I love to work in all media. But I find acrylic paint, at this time, the most naturally expressive, in the sense of painting from feeling or from the subconscious. So most of what is on display here is acrylic paintings.
These acrylic paintings were created from imagination and feeling.
Expressing different emotions or ideas about things.
Using colour, lines, and texture to capture a particular
feeling or mood, or to communicate an individual impression.
Painting spontaneously, without really envisaging the finished work, but rather getting carried away with the painting and letting it develop naturally. Some begin as small sketches - a rough outline and these lines will determine the overall flow of the piece.
Before I began again to concentrate on painting with acrylic,
I used to use a process called sublimation to apply my earlier artwork and photography to metal and fabric. These were sold as limited edition prints.
