Artist Statement:
I attack the canvas with a
premeditated plan and use the
emotion of the moment to carry
the voice of intuition to its
full expression. The "spirit"
of this creative endeavor
speaks very true with me as I
have had many years of
developing the "ear", rather
than the "eye", to create
these images for you. Much of
my inspiration comes from
various life experiences such
as in the early years of my
adulthood dealing with the
guilt and associated pains of
divorcing my first wife;
raising my son as a single
parent; the dating game and
relationships gone bad.
During this period in my life
I challenged the limits of my
own imagination by
experimenting with assorted
deprivation studies. These
experiments were artistically
valuable to me and I plan to
do more soon to see how the
imagination has changed as I
age...as a comparative study.
In more recent years I have
been exploring word-play and
language, social and political
commentary and, being an
inquisitive idealist,
searching the true meaning of
self.
I believe art should shock the
viewer's interests and
curiosity enough to consider
more time for a second look.
Art should be so bold......
