Artist Statement for Caroline Macdonald
|
|
|
Caroline MacDonald's fascination for variety, energy, contrasting lights, colours and peoples are her inspiration and passion. There is joy, love, laughter, kindness and heartbreak everywhere in equal measures. Her aim is to express the emotions that inspire her, she paints in reaction to all she sees and feels. She does not intend to paint photographically but rather to initiate an emotional response in her viewers, to the passion which inspired her.
Caroline MacDonald has lived all over the world; she is married to a civil engineer and has two children. They are as important to her as her art. She has enjoyed every new situation.
There is vitality, a life force,
an energy, a quickening, that is
translated through you into action,
and because there is only one of you
in all time, this expression is unique.
And if you block it, it will never exist
through any other medium and will be lost.
