| Your Personal Biography |
Casell, as he is known to his French Quarter friends and neighbors, is a native of Gerona, Spain and is one of the most widely collected artists working in New Orleans.
Although in his eighties, Casell still paints every weekend at his second home in the Mississippi countryside. The Gulf Coast scenery and sunlight provide inspiration for his colorful pastels.
He also paints pastels every summer back in his native Spain in the coastal fishing village of L'Escala. Casell grew up in the region of Spain on the Mediterranean coast near the border of southern France. The warm, beautiful light and panoramic vistas of the Catalan region have had a lifelong impact on his artistic vision.
Casell landscape and cityscape pastels are painted in a vibrant impressionist manner with strong colors and passionate strokes. |
