Artist Statement for Mary Catherine Watson

Beyond the mission--the artist's statement:

Many of my works are deeply connected to nature, joy, family, and religion. I thrive on challenges and truly enjoy opportunities to change trash into treasure. Many found objects or left-over bits of material end up a part of a great art. I also enjoy teaching art to youth. I am not afraid to show those ugly in-between steps that are a very real part of every great work of art. I believe that when children see an artist persevere, it makes them more likely to stop throwing away their own art when it gets frustrating and difficult. I always try to send messages from my heart to yours in every work that I create.
