Artist Statement:
Artists are inventors, shaping
the new from the already
established. I love the feel
and smell of fabric and use
contempoary fabric as well as
old velvets, satins and
taffetas I've managed to free
from antique shops and
second-hand stores. This
commingling of eras brings a
certain character to the
quilt. Dreams and visions play
a key role as well. Some of
my ideas about quilts come to
me through the whisperings of
ancestors and unknown/unseen
muses. I sleep with a pad
beside my bed and expect.
Other inspiration comes from
nature, the certain turn of a
leaf, the smell of freshly
mowed grass or lightening
flashing across a dark sky in
a thunderstorm. Contact me at
