Artist Statement:
Maine artist Catinka Knoth paints Maine watercolors and produces them as notecards and prints, selling them at local venues and on her website. She groups her paintings of Midcoast Maine lighthouses, fishing boats, animals, landscapes and landmarks into themed card sets. Knoth's art also includes whimsical animal illustrations and Renaissance style imagery.
Knoth graduated from Philadelphia College of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1974 with a BFA in painting. She lived 18 years in New York City before moving to Rockland, Maine in 1992. Knoth is also passionate about teaching. She has been holding weekly watercolor classes for adults since 1998 and has recently started a children's art class....
