Welcome to Catherine White's Portfolio. Browse White's body of work: Nature is twisted into whimsical images and objects with exaggerated intensity of color. This is seen in all aspects of my work from ceramics and sculpture, with crafty polka-dot patterns and repetitive texture, to paintings that zoom in so close to foliage that the depth of space is nonexistent yet immense. These two and three-dimensional pieces forge a playful environment of nonsense with a theme nostalgic of childhood. Lewis Carroll’s novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, is an inspiration for this body of work, the tea party without any tea.
