Artist Statement:
An illustrator turned oil
painter of western flavor.
Cindy Betka started out with
an eye toward a career in
illustration attending Art
Center College of Design. From
there she explored an interest
in medical illustration and
studied in the program at the
University of Illinois
finishing with a BS degree in
Medical Illustration. She
continued with her career in
freelance and medical center
staff positions. After
deciding to retire from
illustration, she and her
husband moved to Montana where
she fell passionately for the
landscape and the
western/ranch way of life. She
is an associate member of the
Oil Painters of America and
carries her passion for
Montana in her art.
