Artist Statement:
I use imagery from childhood
to create loose narratives
that explore many issues in
the adult world. Often the
subject matter is humorous on
the surface level. My work is
often very detailed and
suggestive of an illustrative
quality reminiscent of
children’s books. My great
love of reading provides me
with a never ending storehouse
of characters to reference as
subject matter. Some of my
work simply celebrates the
magic of the everyday and
those elusive moments that
seem charged or symbolically
significant. My mediums of
choice are acrylic,
watercolor, color pencil, and
soft pastel. I occasionally
explore printmaking and
ceramics.
