Artist Statement for Caren Thompson

|
I began painting professionally five years ago.,I am self taught, and I guess it's obvious, I love to paint women and children.
If I can draw my audience into my work and convey a sense of peace and tranquility then, I have succeeded.
Relationships, especially those between a mother and her children are precious. I find, there is something very satisfying as an artist, in being able to portray a woman going about her every day tasks, while at the same time, managing to exude a serenity that comes, deep from within.
