Artist Statement for Cheryl Crouthamel

Thanks for visiting my site! I always have a tough time writing my "artists statement". I mean, how can I begin to explain to anyone who isn't living in my head-and believe me there are a few knocking around in there-who I think I am, why I do what I do, and how I go about doing it. Art has always been a cozy place for me to curl up in and let whatever or whoever decides to show up for the party, onto my canvass or drawing tablet. It changes day to day, by the music I'm grooving to at the moment, or how crappy I feel that day. There is one thing I do know about what I create, it has to evoke a feeling from the viewer. I usually lean towards warm and fuzzy, since most of my work is for kids. But every now and then the voices take over and who knows what can show up! Okay, so now that everyone thinks I'm bonkers, I'll go back to doing what I do and hope I like who comes to play! Cheers!
