Artist Statement:
Paul Chisholm's work explores notions of what constitutes a perfect world. through landscape paintings. the artist nasks us to contemplate mans relationship with nature - both renewal and destruction - life's cycles.
The artists concerns are with the state of the world in the 21st century. Paul's work contrasts idylic country landscapes with post-apocalyptic toxic wastelands, raising issues of impending climate change, over-population, lost wildlife habitats, polution and over consumption in a post industrial age. The construction of more and more homes and the creation of ever more material objects is rapidly changing the very fabric of the worlds ecosystems.
beneath these paintings is a feeling that life is far from idylic: ironically we are destroying the planet and each other in pursuit of a percieved perfect life.... ...

I am a young apsiring artist currently based in London.
I was born to be an artist and to create my own unique vision of the world. There is nothing else apart from creating art which truly feels like my contribution to society.
My styles and process are still being refined and discovered, my art is still in a state of flux. The work you see here is only the begining of what i will create in my life time.
I have studied at various colleges and universitys most notably
nottingham trent university, uk.
the royal academey, the hague holland
and the cyprus college of arts, cyprus.
My work is in various private collections across europe and in one corporate collection in London LNG Capital, mayfair.
