Artist Statement:
Although I work from sketches
and photographs I work
outside. The natural light and
fresh air keep me happy.
There is nothing quite like
painting on a fresh winter
morning, when the frost on the
grass is melting and I can
only just feel my fingers.
Although it is not always
possable I also like to wheel
my sterio outside too and
blast out the metal while I
work, headphones just don't
have the same efect. Milky
sweet coffie and rollups also
aid the process but am
desperately trying to quit the
smokes.
After trying prity much all of
the diforont materials
available to me in the local
area I have settled on two
difforont typs of acrylic
paint. :one finshes quite
chalky and matt, :The other
with a shiny plasticy look, so
when the paint is mixed it
makes for a quite interesting
overall finish.. I have on
ocasion toyed with varnishing
my work when I am happy with
it, but I am never sure if it
looks better.
I am trying to sell my
paintings to raise enough meny
for materials, I want to paint
BIGGER, but biger paintings
mean a bigger outlay, and as
money is ...

Welcome to Chris Davies's Portfolio.
Although I work from sketches and photographs I work outside. The natural light and fresh air keep me happy.
