Artist Statement:
Searching for a fictional
world of universal symbols and
vocabulary, my creative
appetite is fueled by the need
to transform the obvious and
reconstruct it in ways that
make an assertive suggestion
towards what I feel is of
importance.
Affected by pop culture, comic
books and science fiction
movies, my oil paintings are a
fusion of personal experiences
and imagery, shapes and
symbols in unusual
juxtapositions laced with a
fixation towards soft curves
and subtle shading.
Subconsciously or not, the
paintings I create adhere to
specific guidelines, stripping
away the unnecessary and
deconstructing forms in ways
that, when reassembled,
elevate the subjects to a
dream-like reality. Through
multiple dimensions,
intertwined shapes and surreal
atmospheres, each painting is
a unique snapshot of this
bizarre new world. In this
state, everything is possible
