Artist Statement for Christy Park
|
|
|
The interface between photography and the plastic arts has consistently been central to my work which is mostly narrative, usually stories that mix real life and fiction. I grew up on a diet of movies and fairy tales and these still influence my work.
Christy Park earned an MFA in film/printmaking at the Ohio State
University, and studied painting and photography in New York City.
Her work has been exhibited nationally and she was one of the
founders of the 55 Mercer St. Gallery in NYC. She has written
extensively on video art.
