Artist Statement:
My artwork was defined by a
colleague of mine as “
tantalizing and mysterious”, a
definition that not only
properly depicts the most
relevant aspects of my work
but also certain
characteristics of my
personality .
This may come out of the
rapture and fuzziness of the
process of shaping
compositions by means of
playing with layers made up of
scanned photos , my own
pictures and of the unlimited
options that gaphic design
software offers , which all
converges into a final work
which uttermost requires
exactness and pointillist
craftsmanship.
As regards to the “meaning” of
the compositions , I would
like to point out that I am
not fond of definitions, or
“interpretations” as
conceptual tools to convey or
appreciate whichever artistic
expressions we are exposed to
in our daily lives, however
instrutive they might be. . In
my own case, sometimes the
intentions come up thorough
the factual process of making
a digital composition rather
than having a preconceived
scheme that leads me to the
final concluded piece.Some
others, it is the opposite
procedure; so it a matter of
dealing with the
contradictions, errors,
ignorance,knowledge and joy
of creating something.
