| Your Personal Biography |
In the early 60's my family moved from the east coast of the U.S. to the tiny island of Malta. We called it 'the rock' because that's all it seemed like, a small rock surrounded by the the Mediterranean Sea.
The advantages of living there were the endless ancient ruins that my sister and I were able to explore. We attended a British school, Verdala. It was an old fort built built in the 1800s, complete with dungeons and towers.
As a kid, I painted mostly barren, disturbing scenes of graveyards and dragons. Then by accident, some of the paint dripped on what I was working on and I changed it into a bright garden scene. My teacher was thrilled! I received my first art award for that painting. Then I went back to painting what I liked.
Painting has always been my escape from reality and it was in Malta that I realized I wanted to be an artist.
After traveling back to California and then the Philippines and England, I settled in Los Angeles playing bass in punk bands - including Haircuts That Kill, a band led by Chuck Mosley who was Faith No More's original singer. In the aftermath of Haircuts That Kill, I played bass and screamed in an even more obscure band, Mr. Fun.
During this time I continued to paint, everything from old guitars, a drumkit, hats and clothing, old cast-off street corner furniture, and whatever else I could get my hands on.
Over the past years I've painted sculptures of animals for a collectible company, and customized furniture and accessories for Dreamkids, a designer furniture store that was based in Del Mar, California.
My paintings grow from dreams and skewed visions of life, a surreal view of how my brain sees things. Painting continues to be a constant thread in my life.
I've exhibited at shows throughout California and have art in private collections in the U.S. and Canada.
My latest endeavor is putting some art on Ebay auctions so that people can get a chance at bidding on my art.
I've also started making smaller versious of some of my art - on wood with collage, and canvas and paper. These will be on Ebay.
