Artist Statement:
I draw and paint in what is called a figurative style, I prefer painting in oils and soft pastels for the most part. I’ve studied for about five years in a private Art School in Montreal and absorbed a wealth of technical knowledge and this has allowed me to evolve as an artist. For me, it is essential to be able to broach topics sometimes deemed taboo or not for polite company, I make no apologies, this is who I am.
Subject matter varies (still-life, landscape, portrait, etc.) dependent on what captivates my attention at the time. Sometimes, I paint what I see, with no special message and at other times, I paint the socially unacceptable, the raw experiences of life, especially in regards to violence against women. I cannot see myself using my talent as an artist without giving voice to what I feel matters. Erotic art is what i consider my niche.
Of course, my being a feminist and queer woman greatly influence how is see the world around me and i’m glad for it. I love the vibrancy of what the Impressionists brought the world, I am also a fan of Rembrandt and the ...
