Artist Statement:
Influenced by the years I
lived in Mexico I make use of
Mexican elements and bold
colors.
The encounter with different
cultures enriched me and
through my art I share with
others this richness as
Israeli who has Jewish and
Mexican roots.
I focus on figurative art,on
people who has stories to
tell. I seek to express human
qualities with faces of women
mostly rude with a view to an
insightful beauty.
My family and I were exposed
to the war in July-Aug 2006,
autobiographic moments became
afterwards the subjects of my
paintings (orange series)
where I share my own meaning,
as woman and as mother, to an
imposed reality. In those
paints I use symbols as a
woman in black and white,
reminding an old photograph,
against energetic background.
The color, the movement and
the compositions, sometimes
contradictory, give expression
to the power and force of the
painting.
