Artist Statement:
I try to use a few lines to
say a lot,stylized and
colorful,using mainly acrylics
on any supports,
such as
wood,walls.canvas,paper,clay,et
c
I teach how to paint on wood.
I do illustration and graphic
art,T-Shirts design,CD
cover,catalogues and more.
My concern in painting is
mainly people,I observe the
way they function and I try to
translate it with lines and
strong colors of life.
Being some time sarcastic with
a point of humor....

Why Did You Become An Artist Since I was a kid, I would paint and draw, and create objects with anything I could find and paint on various surfaces.
My grand mother used to sit next to me while I was painting.

1972-74: Preparation school for Beaux-Arts (Pari s )
1974-79: Beaux-Arts School (Painting section) Graduate Cum Laude
1979-81: University, Paris, St. Charles (license on Plastic Arts)
Professional Experience
1979-82: Art teacher (drawing and painting) Lycee Montaigne (Paris)
1980-89: Art teacher at Meudon Cultural Center (painting on wood)
1980-89: Art teacher for the city of Paris (painting on wood)
1999-00: Art teacher at College of Marin (The Art of painting on wood)

The artistic search for Claude is based mainly on a stylization of the forms,
the purification of the lines, and the exclusive use of the primary colors.
Claude is also a decorator of interior and colourist-conseil. Since the 16 years age,
Claude exposed in many museums and galleries, took part in exposures public and in private places in France and Europe

.In addition, Claude maintained the relations privileged with artists of reputation like Man Ray, El Salvador Dali and Sonia Delauney...


She painted many murals, in all kinds of places (hospital, restaurants, villas, stores....)

In France, Claude was commissioned to paint murals in hospitals, community spaces, restaurants, private homes, etc.

During all her years in Paris, Claude exhibited her paintings in galleries and museums as well as public and private shows throughout Europe and beyond.

In 1989 moved to California, where she lived 15 years and showing her work regularly in galleries in both the Bay Area and New York.

In addition, Claude teaches, curates shows and continues to accept commissions for murals in private and public spaces, painted woods, etc.

In 1995 she took off one year to travel around the world to get in touch with the art scene beyond America and France to see and share experiences with artists from other countries.
