Artist Statement for Jeremiah Stansbury

Each one of my paintings is based on a preconcieved visual concept, which is for the most part designed to give off the impression of a full or "complete" composition. Most of todays images are not bound by thier medium, you are as likley to see a piece of art on the side of a building as you are to see it in an art gallery. My paintings are filled with ordinary images which often seem to me like pictures on a billboard. Its the context in which these images are viewed that changes them into art.
