ARTIST STATEMENT
I love the play of light and color in the world around me and use these influences in my work as I experiment with shape and color and light. Each painting is an exploration, and may be more or less realistic or abstract as my mood and brush lead me. If I am successful in my use of these influences, you may catch a glimpse of what I see and feel also.
ARTIST INFORMATION
Collins' work shows her love of color, shape and texture as she paints her impressionistic views of the world around her. Landscapes, still life, gardens and people, all fascinate her and find their way to her brush and canvas as she abstracts the shapes and plays with color.
Collins has been exhibiting her work throughout the United States for many years, and has won numerous awards. Her work can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. She studied fine art and interior design at The California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland/San Francisco, California, where she graduated with honors. She currently teaches pastel and oil painting at Cottonwood Artists School, Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she also maintains a studio. Collins ...
