Artist Statement:
Concrete painting
The structural composition of the drawing is in the limit of the line, the line that has origin in the geometric figure of the circle, "because every straight line is a limit of a circle." That pictorial architecture is configured in delimited plans where color has an echo and representation. Color sets the tone of the musicality in the painting. It is applied within the dynamics of alternate rhythms with incessant beating of the brush on the canvas. The predominant texture resulting of that echoed action also reveals a subtle depth as a consequence of the transparency of the oil paint. This constant dialogue with the line, form and the light on canvas, gives dimension to the abstract idea materializing it in a concrete element, which is the concrete painting.
