Artist Statement for Constantine Cionca

If I wouldn’t believe in my art and it’s meaning, certainly I wouldn’t do it. I learn the path not only in a way of knowing myself but also in becoming oneself, creator into my space-time.
In the last ten years I have explored the world of the new media that usually is defined technologically as digital. I discovered that computer generated “art” is as traditional art a technique, a way that frees my imagination and my creative nature, and provide many opportunities to communicate, a vehicle for translating my inner vision to the outer reality.
Digital art, this new “voice”, as painting under the aesthetic consideration is also an art of picking up lines, forms, and colors, balance them by the composition order. Some of my traditional artwork resonates deeply in my new digital projects. Life experiences, cultural and literary sources feed my inspiration, blending text-image-sound into a new net_idiographic paradigm, harmonious graphic-3Digmma.
When I am working in computer I am reminding myself that good art is a good art as the mankind had created for centuries, no matters the tools used. I take a piece of stone, chisel it with bytes until the net cube come out perfect. We are what we are, that is. My art (www.constantine-ionartsud1.com) is now this oasis right here on Internet.
Why should we’re not be beautiful?
You people see it; touch it with your soul, feel this island…and give me your call.

The Inner City project (www.constantine-ikonartstud1.com/soulcity.html) and E-Diarium (http://www.constantine-ikonartstud1.com/diarium.html) from which I crop some static images are an expanding new form of artistic reality, ongoing Prototypes for ideas investigating the use of blending text-image-sound.
