Artist Statement:
The focus in my painting is a
unique watercolor on tissue
technique, loosely translated
from an ancient Zen meditation
ritual, in which monks gazed
at a crumpled piece of rice
paper until a vision
appeared...much the same as
finding shapes in the clouds.
Similiarly, I discover images
from within randomly applied
swirls of tissue, and further
define them through layering,
and selective removal, if
color....
