Artist Statement:
Beauty takes many forms to many different people. Each of us brings our own set of experiences to every work of art we see. Painters leave their experience and interaction with the subject matter in a permanent form for others to share. I strive to leave an uplifting experience for others who go behind me, whether it is making a social statement or sharing a beautiful scene. From visually recording noteworthy events of importance to capturing the likeness of a friend or a flower, I want to communicate the idea that everything is of value. An abstract work will impart emotions from the use of color and form, the realistic portrayal of a bowl of fruit can communicate many things from the feelings of comfort and plenty all the way to just being visually pleasing. I believe that everything and everyone in this creation is connected somehow, and I endeavor to portray that belief in my work. It's a cause and effect relationship, everything we do or say has an effect on everything and everyone else. So I try to make my effects positive effects.
