Artist Statement:
Eric's art began when he was but a
boy. He liked to doodle and color on paper over coins. His early attempts were toward realism or a distorted view of realism. It was also a competitive urge to showcase that his talents were as good as others. As he grew and matured under the teachings of Floyd
College art professor David Mott and good friend/talented artist Joel Ball, he began to explore avenues of expression beyond the "real". Abstract works began to pour forth and experiments began. The visual scientist looking for both texture and form. He is still searching for the absolute combination of the two. His main subjects are individuals, love for colors and the female form. He also has a strange penchant for wild subjects like preying mantis saints, messiahs with basilisk legs, and funny eyes. This is the "he" in summation.
