Artist Statement:
Carla Giuliana is a Symbolic Expressionistic Painter with influences from Post-Impressionists, Expressionists and the Symbolists. Carla G has been working and exhibiting her art in the Seattle area and nation wide since 1994 using colors and symbols to express a moment in time, a landscape, a floral, or an ambiguous dreamscape. Carla's use of ambiguous symbols in conjunction with her realistic expressionism form the basis of her work and caused Webmaster Serge Clapa of Alternate Realities in Art and Thought to dub Carla G a Symbolic Expressionist.
The daughter of an Italian Father and German Mother Carla G was born in Germany and spent her youth in Germany, Italy and South Africa. Graduating from Wright State University in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts Carla G has been primarily influenced by her Grandfather Pan Pfeiffer a post expressionist painter and part of the Bauhaus Group along with the works of Kokoschka, Nolde, and early Kandinsky
