Portrait making itself can stimulate an attitude of adventure, becoming a quest to find and render truths and characteristics specific to the subject. This is a different attitude than perhaps making a visual construct representation or explanation of the subject. It is like an invitation to a party of provocative ideas, a dance to creative adventures, and a banquet for the soul. Usually we think of portraits as being of people, but portrait-making attitudes can apply to just about anything, such as pets, objects, places, sounds and even plants. Here are some examples...
