Artist Statement for Georgi Danevski

My artistry celebrates life, that which is the highest and unavoidable mystery of our maker. Paralleled to life, divinity has placed time as one of God’s creations in which man enters and exits.
Man’s existence in time is my definitive in reflection: quest of recollection, expression and love of man. I confirm that art improves life and surreptitiously weaves, step by step, the movement of material culture. Thus, creating one spectacular creation of which is life itself. Only the soul of art can triumph over changing times.
My obligation, goal and destiny through my art, is to strive for human dignity and freedom. This struggle is validated through the freedom built on hope that is defined, not explained, but expressed through pastures of galloping horses. Through this first phase on the cycle of man, civilization and horse I make my contribution, into the vast oceans, of human struggle and knowledge that have evolved throughout the centuries. The struggle is hard but there is no greater challenge: the creative scenes of the past are represented in harmony with the present and future, depicting a hymn of many voices of which I am proud to have a contribution.
I begin to understand more clearly the word of master Francisco Goya “ I have three great instructors: Velasquez, Rembrandt and nature”, man of great knowledge and inherent instinct, who continually guide me through my artistic adventures. In my world I envision man completely involved with his parallel - the horse, man’s means of transportation, assistant, friend and representative of great stature. Created aero - dynamically from the shimmering shadows of humanity, throughout the centuries, the horse has been used, by man, for construction, war and festive occasions. His union with man has commanded dignity and respect in the past and present and will continue to do so in the future.
If I was born a God I would paint with light, but I am born of man and I paint with color and creative preoccupation. I trust and depend on my spiritual nature, history, my culture and man’s parallel to the horse to enlighten and enhance my creativity.
