Artist Statement:
Daniel John is a photographer
and artist living in the
Pacific Northwest. A majority
of his commercial photography
work has been for advertising
and design firms in the Puget
Sound area. Daniel has also
worked as a freelance writer
and photographer for national
magazines and institutions
throughout the United Sates.
In addition to this, Daniel
has a contract with Getty
Images, the leading photo
stock agency that has placed
his images in advertising
campaigns throughout the
world.
Along with his commercial
work, Daniel is a fine artist
in painting, drawing, and
photography. He has exhibited
in major Northwest galleries
and his work has been
purchased for noteworthy
private collections in this
country. He has drawn and
painted as long as he can
remember, enjoying school art
contests as a child. In his
late teens, the New York
School influenced Daniel.
However, over the course of
his life, German
Expressionism, Surrealism, and
modern figuration of Picasso,
Beckmann, and Bacon, has had
the greatest impact.
As an artist, Daniel John
considers growth and change a
vital part of life. In his
